For many this time has been a dreadful reminder of the level of isolation and disconnection already present in their lives, and for others a stark contrast to the love and care that surrounded them. In both cases we have been forced to take a step back and face the silence. The silence of a future uncertain, the silence of a safety unknown and the silence of human touch. It is hard, and devastating and the question I keep asking myself is what next? How much have our lives changed? Where do we go from here?
There is so much uncertainty each one of face today and yet that is the key to our anxiety we feel. It is only in this day that we have the ability, the choice, the courage to survive what we face. We have never been able to predict our future, we have never had control of tomorrow and we could never change yesterday. It is only right here, right now, in this moment that we are called to act, to feel and to be. There is no more that we can do than be present today.
Are you living the life you want today? Are you living it as if it were your last? Where do we go from here? We stay. We stay in the very moment that we are currently in, we accept it, with all its flaws and uncertainties and we learn to be.
One day at a time.
The secret to health both body and mind is not to mourn the past, worry about the future or anticipate troubles, but to live in the moment wisely and earnestly.
