DUAL DIAGNOSIS PROGRAMMES
Dual diagnosis (also called co-occurring disorders, COD, or co-morbid disorders) is the condition of suffering from a mental illness and a co-existing addictive disorder.
Rather than being the exception in a group, someone suffering from dual diagnosis is part of the norm; with 53% of those with substance use disorders and in excess of 80% of those suffering with eating disorders, having a dual disorder.
Treatment Centres tend to provide substance use disorder treatment, with very few specifically dealing with co-morbidities.
Our regular counselling and nurse training includes seminars by eminent DBT psychologist, Daniel Rabinowitz, ensuring that staff can competently deal with crises. He worked with our entire clinical team in March, specifically designing and adapted DBT programme for addiction in inpatient treatment.
We offer 24/7 psychiatric nurse support ensuring clinical containment and observation within our residential setting.
