The streets are empty, the shops are closed, and although it seems as though no one is around, if you listen closely you may hear laughter from the person next door, a child’s scream, as people across the world isolate themselves in order to protect each other.
It’s a time in which people are coming together for the common good of the people, and even though we are all far apart there is a closeness as we all stand together against a common cause.
Today, I want to spread gratitude for those who are fighting for the lives of people they do not know. Who every day stand helping, caring and healing those who are sick. Who keep the peace and keep us safe. Who have to stay away from their own families in order to look after ours.
Today I am grateful to all the key workers around the world.
